DESCRIPTION
Product Overview
- Why choose between a ball mount and a recovery point when you can have both? The 2-in-1 Receiver Hitch combines a traditional 2" ball mount for everyday towing with a 3/4" D-ring shackle for off-road recovery — all on a single heavy-duty steel bridge. The black powder-coated body resists rust and keeps a low profile, while the bright red D-ring shackle and chrome-plated ball provide high-visibility, corrosion-resistant connection points.
- The quick-insert square tube design slides into any standard 2" receiver and secures with the included 5/8" lock pin. No more swapping between a ball mount for the boat trailer and a recovery receiver for the trail — this one does both jobs without compromise.
Key Features
- A 2" chrome ball mount for towing trailers and a 3/4" D-ring shackle for recovery — permanently mounted on one bridge. No swapping, no separate hardware to store, no choosing between towing and trail readiness.
- The recovery shackle side is rated for 38,500 lbs break strength — enough for serious extractions. The ball mount side handles standard towing up to your vehicle’s rated capacity.
- Welding joins the ball mount bridge to the receiver shank at multiple points, eliminating the weak spots that plague bolt-on dual-purpose hitches. One solid unit, not an assembly of parts.
- Red Shackle Finish The black powder-coated body keeps a clean, subdued look — no clashing with your truck’s rear end. The bright red D-ring shackle is easy to spot when you’re hooking up a recovery strap in low light. Chrome-plated ball resists corrosion at the coupler contact point.
- The square shank slides directly into any 2" receiver and secures with the included 5/8" lock pin. Install or remove in seconds without tools.

FAQ
Q: Can I tow and recover with this hitch at the same time?
A: No — you’ll be doing one or the other. Tow with the ball, recover with the shackle. The beauty is you don’t need to swap hardware — both are always on the truck, ready when you need them.
Q: Can I swap the 2" ball for a different size?
A: Yes — the ball is secured with a large hex nut and spring washer underneath, so it’s fully replaceable. Use a large wrench to remove the nut, swap in a 1-7/8" or 2-5/16" ball, and torque it back down. This is actually a flexibility advantage over permanently welded ball mounts — you’re not locked into one size.
Q: Will the red D-ring shackle fade over time? A: The shackle’s powder coat is UV-stabilized to resist fading, but all colored finishes eventually show sun wear if parked outside 24/7. The corrosion protection under the color coat remains intact regardless of fading. The black body won’t show age the way a colored body would.
Q: Can I use the shackle for towing or only recovery?
A: Recovery only. The shackle is not a ball — never attach a trailer coupler to it. Use the 2" ball on the opposite side for all towing.
Q: Need dedicated recovery gear or a different hitch setup?
A: For maximum recovery strength, check out our 70,000 lbs D-ring hitch receiver. If you need adjustable height, our 6" adjustable drop hitch covers multiple trailer heights.
